Wildlife conservation in Africa has been Biologists Without Borders primary mission, including anti-poaching support, habitat acquisition and land rehabilitation. However, in the course of our work, we have come to realize that climate change represents a major impact that could further push vulnerable species to extinction.  Increasing temperatures, massive floods, and droughts have been devastating the habitats that support wildlife.  Food sources are dwindling and migration patterns are being disrupted at an alarming rate.

These extreme events are threatening all areas of life across Africa. But it is NOT Africa that is creating this threat!  It is primarily the United States, China, and other industrialized countries that emit massive amounts of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) daily. Consequently, Biologists without Borders is broadening our scope to address this serious threat.

Our first project has been the production of an eye-opening, animated video that reveals the massive amounts of greenhouse gases created by cows worldwide.   That’s right.  Cows!  See how their release of Methane, a very powerful GHG, is comparable to CO2 emissions from all the cars, trucks, airplanes and more! We thoroughly researched the published literature on climate change and the data provided in our video is the censensus of the scientific literature on methane pollution.

Please post this video to your social media sites to help spread the word.

Jane Goodall:  “The intensive farming of billions of animals globally seriously damages the environment, causing loss of biodiversity and producing massive greenhouse gas emissions that accelerate global warming.”

David Attenborough:  “Studies have shown that shifting to a plant-based food system could free up an area the size of the United States, China, the European Union, and Australia combined. This space “could then be given back to nature,”
